Modern Indian restaurant Kricket opened the doors of their fourth restaurant at the start of March. Situated on the Great Eastern Street end of Charlotte Road, you'll recognise the venue by its coral pink paint job, or to be specific, Jaipur Pink (according to the company website) - a colour chosen as a marker of warmth, friendship, and relaxed hospitality.

To ready for their grand opening, Kricket representatives gave us (and presumably other members of the local community) a selection of scratch cards for each member of the base team. Some of these were duds but others were real winners, with Bobbi scratching off a voucher for a fully free dinner and Tristan the holder of a half price Sunday lunch. Both of their experiences are shared below.

Bobbi:
"I took my fiancé to dinner at Kricket a few weeks ago and we both had a fab time. It’s beautiful space, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming but not in an overbearing way, so it was a really comfy atmosphere. The portion sizes are generous, and I love the idea of sharing plates, kind of like Indian Tapas, so you can try quite a few things on the menu. We’ll definitely be going back in the near future, especially for those samphire pakoras!"
Tristan:
"Having visited for Sunday lunch with a friend, the menu was a little different to the rest of the week, with a simple choice of either tandoori chicken or braised leg of lamb (and a vegetarian chargrilled cauliflower option). I had lamb, which came with a raan sauce, an amazing mutton seekh kebab, and unlimited salad, raita and rice. The food was genuinely fantastic, and the atmosphere and service warm and welcoming. The bloody maharaja (Mary) was also delicious. Would definitely recommend!"
